Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what data we use and how we protect your information when you use the TubeTransfer app.
1️⃣ Overview
TubeTransfer allows users to securely transfer their YouTube playlists, subscriptions, and liked videos between their own accounts using the official YouTube Data API.
TubeTransfer performs transfers through Google’s APIs on your device. We do not operate a backend that stores your YouTube library or your Google password. We do use limited third-party analytics and diagnostic services to improve product quality and reliability.
2️⃣ What Data We Access
When you sign in through Google OAuth 2.0, the app receives limited access to your YouTube account for the sole purpose of transferring your own data.
We may temporarily access:
- Playlist, subscription, and liked-video metadata (titles, IDs, thumbnails).
- A short-lived OAuth access token (automatically managed by iOS).
We do not store this YouTube content on external servers or share it with anyone.
3️⃣ How Your Data Is Used
We use your YouTube data only to:
- Read your existing playlists, subscriptions, and liked videos.
- Recreate or copy that content into another YouTube account that you authorize.
- Measure app usage and diagnose crashes or reliability issues.
Once the transfer is complete, the temporary access token will expire automatically.
To improve the app, TubeTransfer uses limited third-party analytics and diagnostic services. These services may process telemetry such as product interaction, purchase history, coarse location, device ID, crash data, and other diagnostic data.
We use this telemetry only for analytics and app functionality. We do not use it for advertising, cross-app tracking, or to identify you personally.
4️⃣ YouTube API and Google Services
TubeTransfer relies on the official YouTube Data API Services.
TubeTransfer uses the official YouTube Data API to enable authorized access to users’ playlists and videos. TubeTransfer is not affiliated with, endorsed, or sponsored by Google LLC or YouTube. All YouTube materials remain the property of Google LLC and the respective content owners. TubeTransfer only facilitates authorized access under the YouTube API Terms of Service.
By using the app, you also agree to Google’s policies:
You can manage or revoke the app’s access at any time through your Google Account Security Settings.
5️⃣ Data Security
TubeTransfer does not run an external transfer backend. Your YouTube library is processed locally on your device and through Google’s APIs.
We do not store your Google password. OAuth tokens are stored locally in the iOS Keychain and used only to authenticate with Google Services.
Local Device Storage Disclosure: TubeTransfer accesses local device storage (specifically the iOS Keychain) solely for the purpose of securely storing OAuth access and refresh tokens. These tokens are required for authentication with Google Services and are not shared with our third-party analytics or diagnostic providers.
TubeTransfer does not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking. Your YouTube playlists, subscriptions, liked videos, and related metadata are not stored on our servers beyond the processing needed to complete the transfer you request.
Your privacy and account security remain fully under your control at all times.
